GREETINGS FROM FLORIDA!
It is my pleasure to inform you all that on behalf of INLS Florida Chapter President Bimal Nepal represented our chapter at the First International Nepali Literary Conference, organized by the
International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) on the auspicious occasion of the 144th birth anniversary of poet Motiram Bhatta on August 15, 2009 in New York (USA).
This conference was unique of its kind as it initiated a new era of literary activities of the Nepali diaspora. This historical conference will be the first step ahead in collectively uniting the diaspora in
promoting Nepali language and literature.
This conference, for the first time, provided the opportunity to bring INLS Chapter Presidents together from various regions. New York, Boston, Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, Washington DC, Japan,
Russia and Canada chapters presented their respective chapter activity reports..
Addressing the conference INLS Florida Chapter President Bimal Nepal highlighted the various activities run by our Chapter. Celebrating successfully Bhanu & Laxmi Jayanti in WPB and simultaneously in
various regions of Florida (Tampa & Miami). Pathshala, Nepali class for little children has successfully completed its first anniversary in West Palm Beach and now has expanded in Miami region and will very
soon start in Tampa region. Also, "Bhuwan KC Nite" was celebrated in Florida. Among different activities, the highlight was our literately publication Sagar. As this year, we are coming with its 5th issue; which is published every year on the auspicious occasion of Durga puja.
On behalf of INLS Florida Chapter, we would like to thank the INLS HQ,President Kumar Basnet; coordinator of the convention, Mrs. Bharati Gautam together with all individuals who work hard to make this conference a grand success.
